Ram Digital Imaging was thrilled to be chosen to produce the displays for the outstanding Illusuak Cultural Centre in Nain, NL. The display panels were designed by Blue Rhino Design in partnership with the Ontario Science Centre.
The Illusuak Cultural Centre was developed by Labrador Inuit, for Labrador Inuit to bring community members of all generations together to share Inuit culture. The exhibit designs and materials reflect the rugged and natural landscape of Nunatsiavut.
The display panels were produced using ½” Baltic Birch plywood with intricate cut-outs using the CNC Router.
The illustrations and maps required a layer of white ink before the full-colour printing could be applied so that it would not blend into the wood grain of the plywood.
The finished display panels have received a high level of praise from both the Illusuak Cultural Centre and their visitors alike.
